Daryl Poulin and his wife Debbie live on an acreage west of Cheyenne, Wyoming, where Daryl is a full-time artist. He is well-known in the world of western art and has been commissioned by national and international corporations to create commemorative paintings and prints.
While riding horseback up in the Shoshones, Poulin found what he's been looking for for so long. "It was like a rock hit me on to of the head," Poulin says with a grin. "I thought, 'What have I been missing?' I fell in love with the West and know I wanted to paint it."
Poulin had never painted because he "couldn't find anything I wanted to paint." Suddenly he had found the life he wanted to paint and the life he wanted to live. He soon moved to Cheyenne a "town that is still proud to be Western. If you're going to paint Western, you darn sure better live in it," Poulin says.
