Make the Background layer the active layer.

Rectangle Selection Tool

Use the Rectangle Selection Tool to select an area about the size of the one I have outlined in red.

• Copy Ctrl + C this area.
• Remove selection Ctrl + D.
• Paste it as a new layer Ctrl + L.

This will put the new layer just above the Background layer. You may have to hide the head layer to see it. Name this layer bkdp (short for backdrop).

Move the bkdp image over the back of the head and line it up with the dark shadow on the wall. You can see where I did this in the picture on the left.

Use the Rectangle Selection Tool to select just the right side of the bkdp layer image. Select Brightness/Contrast - Shift + B with these . Click on OK to darken the right side of the bkdp layer image.

Use the Air Brush Tool to smooth out the dark line.
