2. How do I use Windows Explorer to find files or folders?
- Click Start (the icon you use to shutdown Windows), point to Programs, and then click Windows Explorer.
- Click a folder in the left pane of the window to display its contents in the right pane
- I don't see left and right panes. What do I do?
- Click View (at the top of Windows Explorer), point to Explorer Bar, click Folders.
- You will now have left and right panes each time you open Windows Explorer.
- Click the plus signs to display the folders within a folder.
- To change the size of either pane of the window, drag the bar that separates the two panes.
- You can also display the contents of a folder by clicking it in either the right or left pane.

3. How do I search my computer for my Meta Tags Optimizer files?
The steps outlined below can be used to find any files or folders on your computer.
- Click Start (the icon you use to shutdown Windows), point to Find, select Files or Folders,
enter metatag, click on Find Now.
- Look for metatag.zip or MetaTag.exe in the list of files that are displayed.
- Your Meta Tags Optimizer Program files will be in the folder the above file names appear in.
- I suggest you move them to the MetaTag folder so you can find them next time. See Question 4 for help.
- If you still can't find them, make sure you are searching in the correct drive.

4. How do I create a New Folder for Meta Tags Optimizer?
The steps outlined below can be used to create folders anywhere on your computer.
- I suggest you create your Meta Tags Optimizer folder in the Program Files folder.
- Use Windows Explorer to find the Program Files folder in the left pane.
- See instructions on using Windows Explorer at the top of this page for help.
- Click on the Program Files folder in the left pane. The contents of Program Files will show in the right pane.
- Click File (on the top left corner of Explorer), select New and click Folder.
- A new folder will show up in the right pane with the name New Folder highlighted.
- If New Folder is not highlighted, press the F2 function key on the top of your keyboard.
- Type MetaTag and press Enter.
- You now have a MetaTag folder to download and unzip your Meta Tags Optimizer Program to.

5. How do I download Meta Tag Analyzer?
- I suggest you create a folder named MetaTag in the Programs Files folder to download the metatag.zip file to. See Question 4 for help.
- When you're on the Meta Tag Analyzer Download page, click on the "Download metatag.zip file" link.
- When you're asked to Open or Save the file select Save.
- Save the "metatag.zip" file to the MetaTag folder you created.
- After the file has downloaded, select Open to Unzip the files.
- Be sure to Unzip the files to the MetaTag folder you downloaded the "metatag.zip" file to so you can find them.
- "metatag.zip" contains the following files: "MetaTag.exe", "metastr.txt" and "faq_help.htm".
- Be sure to keep the "MetaTag.exe" and the "metastr.txt" files in the same folder.
- "MetaTag.exe" will not run without the "metastr.txt" file being in the same folder.
- Hint: Create a shortcut to the "metastr.txt" and "MetaTag.exe" files on your desktop for convenient access.
- Once you start using the Meta Tag Analyzer, you will find several other uses for it as well.

6. How do I Unzip the metatag.zip file?
- You need an Unzip Program such as Winzip to Unzip the Meta Tags Optimizer Files.
- Note: You can download a free evaluation version of Winzip here
- You can automatically run your Unzip Program by opening the metatag.zip file or
- Open your Unzip Program and use the Search, Browse or Open Option to find the metatag.zip file.
- Select Extract Files (or Next if using the Wizard) in your Unzip Program.
- Select the MetaTag folder by using the Select a different folder or Browse Option.
- Select Unzip Now or Ok or whatever is appropriate in you Unzip Program.
- The following files will be Unzipped and placed in the MetaTag folder: MetaTag.exe, initmeta.bat, faq_help.htm and metastr.txt.

7. How do I initialize Meta Tags Optimizer?
- Open the initmeta.bat file in the MetaTag folder.
- Your Meta Tags Optimizer will be initialized and you will then be ready to Optimize your Meta Tags.
- You only have to initialize Meta Tags Optimizer once.

8. Do I have to close all other Program Files to Run Meta Tags Optimizer?
- No, you do not have to close any Program Files to Run Meta Tags Optimizer.
- The Meta Tags Optimizer program does not change your operating system in any way.
- You can keep the MetaTag.exe and metastr.txt files open while you make changes to the string you want to use for a meta tag.
- Be sure to save the changes you make in the metastr.txt file.
- And be sure to Enter 1: Analyze Text String on the Main Menu of the MetaTag.exe Window after you save the changes.

9. How do I open the MetaTag.exe file?
There are two common ways to open any file:
- Place your mouse over the MetaTag.exe file name or Icon and double click your left mouse button.
- Right click on the MetaTag.exe file and select Open from the popup menu.

10. How to use the Meta Tag Optimizer?
- Open "metastr.txt" in a Text Editor such as Notepad.
- Copy and paste a text string to the "metastr.txt" file and save it.
- Open "MetaTag.exe" - MetaTag.exe automatically analyzes the saved string in metatag.exe when opened.
- "MetaTag.exe" will display a report on the string at the top of the window and display the string below the report.
- It will also display all duplicated words in the string and the number of times they occur.
- Press any key to go to the Main Menu.
- Fine tune the string and save it in the Text Editor Window.
- Enter 1: Analyze Text String on the Main Menu of the MetaTag.exe Window after you save the changes.
- Repeat Steps 7 and 8 until you have the string fine tuned to the way you want it.
- Enter 4: Create and Save Meta Tag to create and save the string as a Meta Tag.
- Enter a 1, 2, or 3 to save the Meta Tag as a Title, Description or Keyword Meta Tag.
- Repeat Steps 2, 7, 8, 10 and 11 as often as you need to.
- A saved Meta Tag can be overwritten with a new one at any time.
- Enter 5 on either the Main Menu or the Create and Save Menu to get Help.
- Hint: Create shortcuts for the "MetaTag.exe" and "metastr.txt" files on you desktop so you can easily open them whenever you have a need for them. You'll find yourself using them a lot more often than you can imagine right now.

11. Where do I find my saved Meta Tags?
- You will find the saved Meta Tags at the top of the page of the metatag.htm file.
- You can copy and paste the Meta Tags as they are on the top of the page to your Web Page if you edit your Web Page using a text editor such as Notepad. If you're using a html editor such as FrontPage, copy and paste the Meta Tags from the View

You can:

- Do not use this page as a template in the MetaTag folder as it will be overwritten the next time metatag.exe is opened and a meta tag is saved. So, be sure to copy it to another folder or rename it first.

- Be sure to include the email address you used to send payment so I can confirm you purchased the program.
- I will email your Program Files in a timely manner and investigate the cause of the problem.
